Does a hawker means he/she is poor to you?

Does a hawker means he/she is uneducated to you?

Does a child helping out for his/her parents at a hawker stall means he/she is poor?

Does a child helping out his/her parents at a hawker stall means he/she is a school dropout?

If any of the above answer is Yes, then FUCK YOU BITCHES! What the hell is wrong with working as a hawker. If the answer is No, then what’s with this fucking stupid stereotyping of hawkers. So what if we work in a way dirtier environment that most of you, so what if we make a mess out of ourself. If you bitches out there didn’t realise, being a hawker is a proper job as compare to a CEO sitting in the office, and thus we deserve the basic amount of respect too. I’m not saying that all of you people out there are being rude to the hawkers, majority of you guys are doing fine, but the minority are not really doing that well. Especially people who are abit more richer then the rest. Hawkers work our life off preparing food for you, work in an insanely hot environment to cook for you, having to bear all the complains of ‘why isn’t mine ready yet’, ‘why is it so slow, are you stupid?’ and also taking down of the orders, so as to prepare for you noobs out there. You guys might say ‘Of course i can say all i want, i paid for the meal’, i’m not saying you guys can’t say whatever you want to say but please use your brain. Look at the environment, the time to check if it’s peak period or if there’s alot of other hungry customers like you.

NO MATTER HOW HUNGRY YOU ARE, WE ARE NOT GOING TO CUT THE QUEUE TO SERVE YOU FIRST ALRIGHT.

So stop complaining to us about why isn’t your portion done yet, or asking us to cook faster. Come on idiots, if you’re talking about cooking, there is no fucking shortcut or a way to make it get cooked faster. How would you like to have a meal that is raw or half cooked? I suppose no one would like that, do you?

Ok, i suppose by now you guys are thinking why the hell am i so pissed off at and what is the point of this post and what am i driving at. So i’ll say it again,

All i want to emphasize is that, please have a basic respect of all hawkers out there. 

I’ll tell you guys examples of what i mean by assholes. Just this afternoon this auntie tried to pass me the money for the food, she said excuse me but i didn’t hear as the environment was pretty noisy and i was talking with my mum. The next time, she pushed my shoulder holding the money and said ‘oi’, i don’t know if it was just me but following that she gave me a seriously stuckup face like she’s looking down on me or something, that really got me pissed off. Some might not agree but that was what i felt at the moment.

Another incident happened to my brother. Once there was this uncle that ordered from my parents and paid them beforehand before my brother reached the stall. Thus when my brother reached the stall, he helped my parents to serve the food to the customer and asked for the money as my parents didn’t tell my brother that it was paid already. So when the uncle’s family said it was paid already, my brother apologise to them. Just as my brother was about to leave the uncle said this.

‘Hawkers are all like this, you pay them already they serve you they still ask for the money. Keep eating our money”

So obviously, my brother got pissed at them and argued with them. Tell me if you would get pissed or not if you were in my brother situation.

There are cases where some even called my mum stupid, that how low someone can get.

You guys might not agree with me, but this happened to me. Believe me or not. As for what i asked for everyone out there, please have respect for us. It’s not that we’re poor, what most hawker earn 1week can easily be more then what most people are earning in 1month. It’s not that all of us are school dropout, there are Degree-holder working as a hawker or helping out as well.

Even a simple smile with a thanks make our day and make us think all the hardwork we done are worth it. So before you do anything, please think before acting.
